In order to help Ohio businesses meet the need for a skilled workforce, Northwest State Community College has the top-notch education, training and services available to upskill your current workforce and ensure that students of all ages have at least some level of college education and/or certification necessary to help our business partners thrive. A recent Georgetown study noted that by 2031, “Twenty-nine percent of all jobs nationally will require workers to have middle skills”. Middle skills include associate’s degrees, postsecondary vocational certificates, test-based licenses, industry certifications, or some college but no degree. When individuals have access to better employment opportunities, lives are changed and communities thrive. One of the best ways to improve employment outcomes is to help bridge the skills gap by training the local workforce with skills that are in demand at local businesses. We do this through a combination of certificate and degree programs, along with workforce development training that leads to industry-recognized credentials. But that’s just one part of our mission.

Northwest State is instrumental in providing local learners with a launching pad for bachelor’s degrees and beyond. Some students start earning their first post-secondary degree while still in high school thanks to the College Credit Plus classes through NSCC. Others start with affordable and high-quality classes at Northwest State after high school, building a solid foundation of transferable credits.

From 2020 through today, Northwest State’s total enrollment has grown 47.9%. From associate degree students to contract training, we are proud to offer high-quality options that improve lives, strengthen communities, and help Elevate Northwest Ohio.
