TRIO Student Support Services

Our mission is to provide support, encouragement and information that empowers our students to maximize their potential and be successful academically, personally and professionally.

Who is eligible?

Eligibility is based on federally defined criteria where at least one of the following must be met:

First generation college student (neither parent has a bachelor’s degree)
Limited income as defined by federal guidelines (verified by staff)
Have a documented learning or physical disability

Applicants must be:

Registered for classes at NSCC
Enrolled in an associate degree or certificate program
In good academic standing based on NSCC’s requirements
A U.S citizen or permanent resident

Please note that TRIO services are not available for students who have already earned an associate or bachelor’s degree.

Additional documentation will be requested to complete your application

A signed copy of your most recent federal income tax return or a completed supplemental verification form
Current class schedule
Completed needs assessment survey
Non-citizens must provide a Permanent Resident Card
